@anirudhnarla4711 Japan’s population is declining, plus they had a massive real estate crash in the 90s they haven’t recovered from, with the crash resulting in a fundamental change in how Japanese view property investment

@moosesandmeese969 Actually they had housing bubble until the 1990s when it burst during their lost decade that their economy hasn’t recovered from yet. Japanese are also a risk averse people and the lost decade housing crash meant that they no longer trusted using housing as an investment, and same with their stock market, which like their housing prices, has not recovered from the 1990s for the same reason. Plus their population has dropped millions from their peak and Japan has a huge number of empty homes now

@moosesandmeese969 Well their housing stock is designed for a larger population than they have now. Due to their dropping population, they will have an oversupply of homes unless they actively demolish them
