@SerenityM54L2SAM5L5N1 because its american media, and usa speaks english, so naturally more content is directed towards english speaking countries like usa. Search in another language, and another country becomes center of attention

my observation, is that the worst hit countries(usa, brazil, india, russia, mexico), all tend to be large decentralized countries

also usa is world's melting pot. Immigrants from all over the world. Virus was generally introduced to america, by chinese and european tourists coming to america. Americans returning from asia and europe, and immigrants from china, iran, and europe(early hotspots) returning to america after going home, eg many chinese immigrants in america went home to celebrate chinese new year, and they brought covid 19 to america with them

@DAndyLord even in countries with socialized medicine(eg european countries and canada), poor people still died at higher rates compared to wealthier people. Same factors apply, more crowded housing, doing jobs they can't do at home, health conditions more prevalent among poor, etc

probably because its under control, plus its insanely uncomfortable wearing it in the sweltering heat of the italian summer

sweden. No lockdown, no masks. I've heard swedish government actually discourages wearing them

correction 2 states where its required(california and texas). Florida and arizona do not sue cities that require them, and most in those 2 states do. An actual state thats not in the spotlight where governor is actually suing cities is georgia. Georgia actually did well, considering how much criticism they took over them being first state by far to exit lockdown and reopen, and how they sue cities not wearing masks. Their curve is flat. Media doesn't report on them because it doesn't fit their agenda

@belladesa91 probably because its well under control in italy, plus its insanely uncomfortable to wear a mask in the heat(summers in italy are very hot)

@ecognitio9605 don't forget in may and june, even with increased testing in usa, cases started to drop, although not as quickly as other countries. However, that trend reversed in late-june as cases spiked again in the usa

thats old news. On june 5th, WHO said that general public should wear non-medical masks and vulnerable people should wear medical masks in areas with widespread community transmission
