@cloudpoint0 Brazil also tests way less than USA, but I agree, tropical climate may have saved them somewhat, eg they never saw a surge as dramatic as the massive norrthern hemisphere covid surge that unfolded across the northern hemisphere last winter from North America, to Europe to Middle East to Asia
2
@xavierzacheriah6038 US and Europe has its own weaknesses. Lots of travel and global connections, large elderly population, favorable climate for spread, etc
2
@thechosenone1533 Not true in the southern and Midwestern USA. Hit very hard by pandemic yet lots of anti-vaxer sentiment and low vaccination rate. Same in Eastern Europe and Russia
2
common cold(rhinovirus)
2
Kids under 13 are already banned from social media
2
@kdbasu USA healthcare is private and USA is decentralized country with decentralized response
2
Not anymore, long harsh lockdowns, concentration camps and wrecked economy
2
Cause there’s most likely plenty of officers dressed in plain clothes that are among the attackers
2
@TheSwedishRider Or those originally educated in East Germany who might speak Russian better than English as Russian was main second language in communist East Germany
1
not all asians wear masks when they have a cold, in fact, most don't, wear them, even when they have cold/flu, and they only do so on days of severe air pollution or when there is a deadly pandemic around. Also, masks are not 100% effective, but its better than nothing.
1
@stevepirie8130 Vietnam and southeast asia isn't doing well anymore
1
@joshbentley2307 actually in Asia some of the poorer countries are outperforming the rich ones like Japan and South Korea in vaccinations. They include China, Mongolia and Cambodia. Shocking right. Anyways, in Asia, only Singapore, China and Mongolia have vaccination rates as high as western countries
1
France likely banned domestic flights because the SNCF(France’s national railway company) has a powerful union that has huge influence on French government. Another example is how France charges expensive tolls on their highways, showing how SNCF union have pushed French government to implement policies that encourage rail above all other methods
1
@FirstLast-di5sr they were told to wear masks and were even given them, but they chose not to. Its supposed to be with masks but the supporters don't care
1
@Robert-cu9bm sweden has been leading the world in new deaths per capita for past week. They're stretching the gap even wider
1
@penyokboyz Look up vaccination data in US and UK and compare them to Indonesia
1
You definitely should be. Russia has very high infection rate
1
almost every place with masks mandate says that you do not need to wear a mask if you're outside with social distancing
1
@donfalcon1495 I’ve heard 98% of cases are asymptomatic there
1
It’s because India has a young population and Indians have a strong immune system. China and the west has a lot more old people compared to India
1
@michaeldeierhoi4096 plus we won't have our tech industry and our entertainment industry if we don't have california
1
@hahajj4373 They're not interested, cause many are probably not interested in foreign stuff, and most don't know foreign language, meaning that they won't understand most stuff in foreign network, with relatively few content in Chinese
1
@JuanPerez-ei5ls And vaccine access and availability is also now improving in poorer countries
1
Bio n tech, cause it's German and DW is German
1
Romanians
1
We weren't tracking variations before
1
Apparently according to a study. Queens started more wars than kings
1
We have vaccines now and most people are vaccinated. It’s definitely time to open
1
Seems like in Americas region, every country seem to be doing quite well currently with the exception of the US, based on covid infection rate map
1
@ricski64 canada stats only look good compared to usa and uk
1
@Teporame Eastern Europeans are known for their distrust of vaccines. Latin Americans known for the opposite
1
It is political suicide though. Look at Germany’s CDU and their decreasing popularity, for their pro-lockdown position. Same with California governor Newsom, known for his lockdowns and is now facing recall as voters in his deep blue state turn against him
1
Yeah, look at how fast Uk vaccination is compared to eu
1
How’s France’s vaccine passport working out. There’s your answer
1
Biden administration now meddling in foreign elections to install candidates they like after their law-fare attempt against Trump failed
1
@aditya-ml6km lol, this virus is crazy adoptive. Species this virus affects are bats, pangolins, humans, domestic cats, dogs, lions, tigers
1
Steven S members of a political party would generally support their parties candidates, regardless of who gets nominated
1
@MikeLiteraus Seasonality, Florida and Texas currently have comfortable weather where it's comfortable to be outside, while in Europe, it's getting cold. It's the reason why the fates of Florida and Texas compared to Europe have reversed since summer
1
Sinovac is useless
1
Less competitive in gaming
1
@buckcampbell3260 also western countries have lots of travel, which makes it easier for virus to get in, plus western countries have lots of elderly people which the virus affects the most
1
What about Euros in Europe. It’s provided a blueprint of how to safely hold sports event during pandemic
1
@cloudpoint0 Netherlands isn’t so low. USA, Germany, Switzerland and Austria are currently the least vaccinated western countries. Least vaccinated western countries for a long time used to be Australia and New Zealand but not anymore
1
@andromedamaxima1543 Not sure about that, cause there has been cases of people getting reinfected just as there have been breakthrough infections. Heck, there’s even cases of double breakthroughs where people have previously gotten infected, then got vaccinated only to get reinfected
1
array s well american states almost operate like their own countries
1
Lockdown is going to disincentivize vaccination. What incentivizes vaccination is freedom
1
japan flattened the curve. No lockdown, no tracking, not many tests
1
they're too afraid of catching the virus to be out protesting
1
Sony Fan Sony Fan UK is a western island nation. How are they doing
1
@veerpalsingh5026 no lockdown in japan, taiwan, south korea. Low infection rates. Also, china's death toll is likely not accurate. Based on cremation data, it is estimated that there are 42000 deaths in hubei province alone. The healthcare system in province collapsed during peak of outbreak, so data collection has also been severely affected
