That, my friend, is very typical of the way these "shock jocks" operate. They have their hand on the "kill" switch.

He has made a highly paid career out of it...he made a total goose of himself by challenging Brett Lee in the nets at a Sydney Test, televised of course!
2
@ChatPOPPAT One could equally state that the patriotic effort by Nathan Lyon to bat, as he did, and contribute to a 21 run partnership could have amounted to a game winning effort.
2
Can't throw straight, can't catch, can't think...Warnie would love the bloke.
2
@MrReachashish And a cricket bowler cannot use the vastly different seam that exists on a baseball and that elite Little League kids are coached to use. You have to accept that the Laws / Rules of the two sports differ in delivery mechanisms so it is pointless bringing up points such as you did.
1
@partimeninja5388 exactly that happens regularly in both cricket and baseball although a cricket ball WILL lose some velocity when it contacts the pitch.
1
says somebody who wouldn't know the first rule of baseball.
1
@YD-uq5fi and how do you know you are not interested without knowing the finer points of the sport...you sound like the old ladies who used to go and watch one paricular code of football in an era when the players all wore very short shorts.
1
@mattyey ANY code that uses the foot to promote a ball can be called football. These sanctimonious people why say some codes use the hands are right up themselves given their game also uses hands albeit less regularly.
1
For the record. The Spirit of the game is NOT written into the actual Laws. It appears as a preamble to those Laws. Such as a preface would in a book.
1
An Australian that agrees. We have been playing baseball for almost as long as USA and would be in a better position that most others. The Brits like to think so but they played to different baseball rules..ones that existed for rounders beore baseball was codified. Both are excellent sports evidenced in the fact that numerous Australian Cricket Captains have been elite baseball players and many more test players that have played both sports.
1
@todddixon1005 "It ain't over till it's over" is a famous old quote by a very famous NY Yankee BUT in this case the Laws of cricket state (as any umpire would know) that the over is complete when the umpire calls "OVER". p.s. being an umpire you can, no doubt, pull out your Laws of Cricket and quote the Law relevant to your statement.
1
@raymckee2450 Morgan has held a bat, rather competently, and challenged Aussie quick Brett Lee to try and "scare" him a year or two ago in the nets during a Sydney Test. Typically all piss and wind of course and the cameras had to be present. Binga could easily have killed the goose but he remained withing a comfort zone and put one into Morgan's ribs.
1
@AdrenalineConcept Being pedantic, the game of Cricket only had "Rules" when a tournament is applicable. The everyday game is played and umpired to the LAWS of Cricket as set down by the MCC based at Thomas Lord's Ground. This "Spirit of the game" is documented in the LAWS as a preamble and can be found with a search.

@Rob-fx2dw Can't throw straight, can't catch, can't think.....Warnie would love the bloke.

@ThePhotofit If Morgsn had any balance about him he should also mention the misdemeanours the many other nations that have documented cases of cheating / ball tampering. There are too mnay to list here but a search will find many. South Africa is right up there as a constant offender and even English Moeen Ali was finded by ICC for his effort in the First Test.
1
@todddixon1005 Were you an accreited umpire. how so? I have coached and umpired (two sports) and one of the first points we teach kids is to stay in their crease until the over is called. You should know that. It was YOUR responsibility to make the call thus making the ball dead. Look at the vision, NEITHER umpire has moved because they know the ball is live.
1
@todddixon1005 I do not need to "speak for every umpire". when an "umpire" would know what the Law states. Stop making a total arse of yourself and pretending to know a Law you obviously know nothing about
1
@jamesjones-z4u Indeed and there is evidence that Bairstow tried his luck at throwing down the wicket also. It turns out his throwing ability is about the same as his catching.
1
South Africa is / was relatively strong at baseball. So much so that they were one of the eight teams that participated in the Sydney 2000 Olympics where I was a volunteer. Baseball has been an Olympic sport for at least five Games and the USA are far from the most successful nation. I have been involved in cricket for over 50 years and baseball around 40 years. Given SA's strength can I suggest to get along to a baseball game and try to develop some balance. The actual tactics and strategies used in baserunning alone are something cricket has no requirement for and these skills make baseball as heady, if not more tactical, than a cricket game.
1
@JIMDEZWAV It's a big world out there and Australia competes globally at so many sports, even unheard of ones. The results from the Paris Olympics is evidence of that.
1
@ChrisBrown-or8ky Does the same apply to Brendon McCullum?
1
absolutely DUMB thing to say given cricket is not baseball...end of story.
1
@amalkumar2775 is that like pocket billiards?
1
If you arre so good at cricket then why not go back to being a most sports minded nation and focus on sports that other nations also play. Start by trying to win at least one gold medal at the next Olympics.
1
One could say that is very evident given how India performed at the Paris Olympics...the REAL barometer of sporting achievement.
1
@davidgrosvenor1 Much like World Series Cricket was?
1
@richpiana6930 There arre around 130 nations affiliated with the ICC...look for yourself
1
@johnpaulnath2 "Nothing is common" ? Would be a good idea to ask yourself why at least FIVE Australian Test Captains have been elite baseball that could have played at Minor League level but for year round committments for their cricket. Several global cricket bodies have used elite baseball coach for upskilling elite cricketers.
1
Where is Brett Lee...bring him out and give him another over at Morgan in the practice nets...knock some sense into him....again.
1
not the first (or last) time Morgan has done this...makes him feel authorative.
1
If Morgan knew his cricket he would know that many early US professional baseball players were actually from Britain. He is not interested in factual info moreson things that he can sensationalise.
1
@Al-ZuttMomochan That is a distinct possibility with the manner India is destroying global cricket.
1
Got news for you...EVERY sport requires discipline and everything else you mention...you need to get out more.
1
it was not a debate...simply grandstanding by Morgan seeking popularity that he has lost.
