  1. Most of you only think of the Snowy Mountains when it comes to snow BUT there are many more places where snow regularly falls away from Snowys. In NSW the Northern Tablelands / New England areas, Central West, Blue Mountains, Southern Highlands, The ACT, Central Victoria and Tassie of course

  2. Americans, like the young lady here almost does, pronounce Kosciuszko in the correct manner whereas we Aussies have bastardised it. If you take the connecting road between Soldier Stadium (go Bears) and the Adler Planetarium in Chicago you will see a grand statue honouring Thaddeus Kosciuszko in recognition of a great soldier / engineer and explorer. It was countryman Paweł Strzelecki who named our mountain when exploring here. The desert track in central Australia bears Strzelecki's name.

  4. Do you not mean Kiandra motel, Kiama is on the NSW south coast. Of interest is that Kiandra was the first place where people took to the snow in Australia. It was during the gold rush years when prospecting there was not uncommon. Of course that was long before Lake Jindabyne existed and Old Adaminaby became submerged.
