  4. One of the biggest reasons for inability to host anything larger than the 1000 is based around accommodation and area to locate the circus that travels with the overall group. In my lifetime I've seen accommodation other that tents etc going mad to the point where a large Rydges hotel has appeared. Just imagine trying to house the record crowd that attended the last race held in Adelaide. They had 210,000 on race day and over 410,000 over the carnival...numbers that have not been bettered yet. The AGP was hosted at Phillip Is from 1928 and distance from the city became the issue for everyone going to Melbourne.
