  1. The "Mini" is a Morris Cooper S which was assembled in Oz by BMC (British Motor Corp.). The Cooper name is from John Cooper, famous for the Cooper Formula and Sports categories. The Bathurst winning car was driven by Irishman Paddy Hopkirk, the factory driver who also won the Monaco leg of the World Rally championship that year.

  4. Back in the days when MG (Morris Garages) was a repected British car builder. They even build a GP car at one time. Gone down a bumpy road since the name was bought by very different operation.
