  1. In the same manner that boutique beer and wine have become so popular from small family businesses so too has chocolate. Many Aussie tourist towns now have small operational chocolatiers just as they are found in the traditional producers in Europe. One of Australia's best mass produced was the Old Gold range and Cherry Ripe and Freddos made in Melbourne by the MacRobertson company. They were "consumed" by Cadbury in the 60's

  2. We agree on two points. Yes, the Euro and NZ manufactured varieties in Aldi are hard to beat. And for sure, Darrell Lea used to be the best by far but not so much for some time. Best liquorice allsorts though!!
