And note his co-driver, the great Allan Moffat. I had forgotten they shared a vehicle

I remember when he was an unknown running around Oran Park (western Sydney) in his track legit Austin A30 with the Brock tuned 179CI Holden engine..he was known for his paddock bashers but he somehow got this one sanctioned for racing in the "Improved Touring" category. Improved it was, no other A30 like it on the planet. From the start Brocky knew how to make a statement.

If you are into the feats of Aussie drivers / manufacturers you should think about looking into the story behind the great Sir Jack Brabham, the first man to drive a car of his design to a Formula One championship. Sir Bruce McLaren from New Zealand is right up there too. Sadly there was no live TV, Internet and YT in their day.

Re the cameras in cars. Fairly sure they started out being set in a headlight surround with the lamp glass removed. The move to inside car with moveable body came a few yeears later. It was done by Channel Seven Network technos. Australia had one brilliant mind in a man named David Hill. David was with the Nine network and primarily made his name working out locations of cameras for best coverage of cricket. I believe he was associated with the breakaway World Series Cricket group under Kerry Packer. Such was David's talent that he was noticed by the Murdoch's Fox people and taken to the US where he turned MLB around by introducing innovations such as the mini camera set in first base for great shots of pick offs etc. More Aussie genius

@DodgyBrothersEngineering Let's not forget the work done by Repco on the 308 for use in the F5000's. We had some great F5000's running in a specialised category at the time. Some real class designing that was headed by Lola England where Frank Gardiner was heavily involved. The Kiwis also had a few cars that would come and compete favourably in the Trans Tasman Cup.
