  3. One of the worst areas for bugs and critters is basically anywhere affected by Ross River virus. Not as prominent as it was but still has debilitating effects which sometime last several months. Spread primarily by infected mosquitoes in tropical areas. Wilson's Promontory region has many remnants like the boulders from a time when there was no Bass Strait and Tasmania was part of the one great southern land. Beautiful weathered rock formations, the Remarkable Rocks on Kangaroo Island.

  4. The section of coast around Warrnambool is famously named the Shipwreck Coast but there are also many shipwrecks throughout Bass Strait including a number of coastal vessels that were sunk by enemy fire during WW2.
