The Opening Ceremony of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games held in the then 120.000 capacity Olympic Stadium was a brilliant exposé of Australia's inventiveness and innovation in manufacturing. Well worth a look. Little Nikki Webster's performance dngling from wires above the Stadium is also something to behold.

Snakes, funnel web spiders and other venimous nasties used to be "milked" for their venom which formed the basis of antivenines made by the Commonwealth Serum Laboratories before it was PRIVATISED.

General Sir John Monash did a bit more that "command US soldiers". He changed the face of warfare...Look him up...the battle of Le Hamel on the Western Front. A true Aussie hero.
