  1. Man, I feel exactly what you’re feeling around 8:30 as an American. I am super into prop aviation. I love old airplanes. And one of the only ways to see them in the US is to go to air shows. And inevitably, that shit is super conservative and super cringe patriotic. My eyes roll back into my head when they ask people to stand for the national anthem. Just fucking let me see the cool planes, bro. America has maintained the Pax Americana by enforcing the economic global rules-based order, but to say any American soldier after 1945 (or arguably, 1865) has actively defended our freedom, is a joke.
