Giving too much credit to Putin for thinking, he thought he could get away with invading Ukraine as they totally underestimated the Ukrainian defence, he didn't at this stage care about the West as he thought it would be a short war and he would strongarm Germany to keep having the gas (Which would have been correct). When the West saw that Ukraine was able to defend itself it supplied defensive weapons that made his position worse and he has just made up stories and lies to try and splinter the West, I don't think he believes a word of it, it's just to achieve his aims. It is correct that he has been the leader for too long, like Xi. The United Kingdom trials and tribulations etc. are not going to go nuclear anytime soon, so it's a domestic - Yawn!?!

  4. Western World gets the blame again, well NO! It's Putin's crazy invasion it's his fault, Ukraine was originally warned prior to the invasion and they didn't believe it, I can understand why because it seems like such a ludicrous proposition. Putin obviously expected Ukraine to cave in and is still under the impression that that is the case, hopefully it is not! The West has been cautious in supplying arms to Ukraine as it didn't know if it was going to survive the onslaught or cave in either, there was an undetermined number of Ukraine's on the Russian side at this time also, and Ukraine and Russia share more than what makes them different. However the barbaric Russian invasion has galvanised Ukraine's response and they have turned from a militia to a proper National Military force, they have had setbacks in the Winter period but only minor ones, hopefully these can be overturned with great interest, no one can predict what Putin will do next, his alliance with China is unfathomable because his ego didn't let him accept Russia's position in the West, it's economy is not performing well and it's place in the East will be hardly to his liking, but at the end of the day he owns all this, it's by his hand!?!

The Russians are unlikely to prosecute another war (Unless it's Civil), so major changes will have to be made, it's current military has been exposed in the cruel light of modern warfare, it is not the only one with nuclear weapons it's options are severely limited it is unclear where it is going to go but it is not upwards, it's either a disaster or a catastrophe!?!

  6. China is unlikely to go into Russia as Russia's response will be unknown, at present it's getting a load of cheap energy which it sorely needs and most probably tons of minerals and metals. If Russia starts destabilising then it might step in, but the World must treat it like the invasion of Ukraine, it's illegal, and sanctions should be applied, each region of Russia has a right to determine its own destiny if it splits up, they can choose to merger, as long as it doesn't involve taking over others!?!

I think it started because Putin thought he could sail into Ukraine and take it over easily, it failed rather quickly and then the pack of lies came out to justify his actions (Mostly for the domestic audience). Currently Russia is going along on a crippling path that might lead to its own breakdown with no clear path out!?!

Russian citizens are committing the atrocious war crimes in Ukraine orchestrated by Putin's regime. $45 has been generally used for Russia oil, a big slip up on facts, Joe Blogs reported that they have reduced capacity in an attempt to stem falling prices and evade the price cap which was only applied in December, it doesn't have enough ships to evade sanctions and they are of the smaller size so not so economical, and although China and India has increased their crude oil it's at a greater discount, and they hardly use refined oil which cratered since the price cap in February, so the noose is tightening on Russia, and the reason why they wasn't applied before was that Europe took a while to diversify from Russia energy, Joe Blogs latest Russian blog contains all the data!?!

Because if they never learnt anything, it will be them fighting Russia, it has ambitions past Ukraine, it has already said so, and all other Autocrats will look for our demise if we are seen to be weak, you have to fight for freedom, it has been so, it will be so, Ukraine didn't want a war, Russia rather forced it, barbarically, very much like WWII the Nazis rather forced it, nobody else really wanted to go to war, they had no option!?!

  11. Russia couldn't accept its place in the West and tried but failed to agitate their position. Putin by aligning to the East will have a lower place, they want Russia's energy ( .....and land but due to its nuclear threat they will not move against them short term) but won't share their power or be dependant on Russia. Siberia will become the focus of energy transfers which might lead to a pivot away from Moscow and St. Petersburg as the Energy supply to the West will be reduced for decades. I wonder how long Putin will put up with the "New Order"!?!

Russia has hit a major buffer with regard to its blackmail of nuclear weapons, the West is still mulling over the way forward, but I wouldn't say that the U.S. wouldn't use nuclear weapons (...but it would obviously rather not!), especially if Russia sent a few speculative ones out, or positive evidence existed that they would. It is concerning that Putin's Russia is set precariously in the sand of an ⌛, one wonders if he continues escalation when they will be sunk and the resulting pandemonium, it's like he thinks they are to big to fail!?!
