@sequenceofficial6141 The U.S. would have said that the Karkhiv Region (Without much of a fight by the Russians) and Kherson (City - Without to much of a fight by the Russians, they did not get involved in the City with face to face combat) would have been taken by November. Russian soldiers morale does not match Putin's ambitions as the rewards are not great enough, this will be the biggest factor in deciding the end of the war, Ukraine knows its enemy better than the U.S. and, at the moment, it can sense some sort of a victory, it does need to improve its air defence by 30 to 40% though, and the West is helping in this regard!?!

His comments don't mean much, he's in charge of the U.S. military, not the Ukraine one, it's a different ball game. I would say that Ukraine has a chance to boot Russia out by Autumn of 2023 (I don't think anybody was expecting them to do this by this year's end), if the current pressure can be applied until then, I assume they will try to retake the territory to the North to disrupt supply lines into Luhansk and down south by trying to take Melitopol, hopefully before Spring 2023. Once these supply lines are disrupted two pockets of Russians are trapped with limited supplies, but a lot of fighting is going to happen before then, hopefully Russia will just throw their troops into the firing line and Ukraine will suffer minimal losses!?!

@snowleopard4203 Kherson was liberated (As in City), the desert bit, (part of the Kherson Region but sparsely populated) is controlled, at present, "mostly" by Russia!?!

@MrSlavaoat When we the West say Kherson we mean Kherson City, when we say Kherson Region we mean the City and Sparsely populated desert that Russia "mostly" controls at present. When the West was referring to the Soviet Union it was addressing Russia as they were basically telling everybody else what to do. When the West refers to Russia now it is referring to Moscow and secondarily St. Petersburg as they dictate what everybody else does, it's no good going to Siberia and asking them a diplomatic question, they would report to Moscow and then send the answer back. It's just the way it is!?!

Blimey Charlie the Russian reporter left the U.K. out of the nuclear attack threat, only Germany and the Baltic States, I am most indignant, I suppose he could have mentioned France as well, then I would have been apoplectic!?!
