China blah blah blah, they basically had restrictive regulations on foreign tourists since the start of COVID, they only dropped their restrictions recently as they failed in zero lockdown, just having a clearance test for Chinese visitors is not a big issue, considering the risk, it is quite minimalist, perhaps the Chinese visitirs should more or less have the same restrictions as China applied!?!

  9. I think that is a lope sided view, it is more like Russia from the Second division taking on Ukraine from the Third division, but supported by the "whole" of the first division's resources. Russia neither has the time, money or resources to win the war, at present it is trying to get the game abandoned before the onset of the second half, they are 4-0 down in the first half. The West will support Ukraine as long as they are advancing and they can see an end to the war in Autumn of 2023 or Early 2024 ( Sanctions from the West do not fully kick in until Spring of 2023, so the West has slightly dragged its feet on that one and will give Ukraine a bit more slack), and Russia is carrying out its atrocities, the West's population will not waiver in the face of a murderous bully, as some of these countries will become closer to the murderous bully if Russia wins!?!

The Wider West is only supplying defensive weapons (As per the peace agreement which while being signed by Russia also, has since been broken by Russia twice), and this is below Russian Army donations. Russia was warned of the consequences of their actions before the invasion (Prior to the invasion Putin said Russia was only carrying out military exercises in Belarus and had no intention to invade - Did you forget that!), they had guarantees from Ukraine that they would not join NATO before the invasion, then they illegally and barbarically invaded Ukraine anyway, nobody is attacking Russia (Except when Russia lobs munitions over the border!) so all they have to do is withdraw from Ukraine. In summary therefore it is of little use blaming the West for Russia's illegal and foolish actions, they have only themselves to blame, and their economy will drop by at least 10 places by GDP and will in a few years be below Poland, and hopefully booted out of Ukraine, some victory!?! (Note - U.K. recent problems were self inflicted but as we can reverse our course (Unlike Autocrats) things are nearly back to normal, and the majority of the UK still supports Ukraine's defence )!!?!

The U.K. is not involved in a hugely costly illegal and barbaric invasion. The U.K. is supplying defence to Ukraine for less than 1% of its GDP per year. The Russian military equipment used in Ukraine tells the story of corruption and the poor state of maintenance of its weapons against an Army which has had to develop from scratch as a band of local militia to a full fledged nationwide fighting unit capable of pushing Russia back on three occasions to date, hopefully all the way back into Russia by the end of 2023!?!

Air defence is the top priority, that is Ukraine's Achilles heel, then longer range missiles +100 km, then tanks and light armoured vehicles, fighter jets are for the future, but not for now, Russia could shoot all supplied jets down, that is what Ukraine is nearly doing at present to Russia's jets in Ukraine, Russia do not have air superiority, however Ukraine does not have full defence of its airspace!?!

  29.  @billgibbard9449  U.K. is hardly likely to be fighting Russia or China on land anytime soon, if it is it will be part of NATO so the tanks remaining will do, so 50 tanks and support should be sent, with ammo, then a priority on the next tanks should be earmarked over the next decade for instance, that is if Germany further delays the sending of Leopard tanks after the 20/01/2022. Obviously it would make more sense for Leopards to be sent, but Germany somehow still doesn't get it, perhaps they want the Russians as their neighbours as they can get the energy overland then!?!

The Russians are building three defensive positions on the opposite bank of Kherson which will be subject to flooding if the dam is blown and would weaken their position in this area, most of, if not all their air attacks will be shot down with air defence weapons. Russia will go for its tried and tested artillery until the total destruction method, but Ukraine will just occupy it out of harm's way but close enough to hit supply lines from Crimea or renewed attacks over the Dnipro into Kherson, and most probably redeploy a big chunk of troops to Melitopol for a land attack to cut the Russians in two and choke their supply lines!?!

Ukraine's artillery needs maintenance as well, including the M777 and all its other artillery pieces (It doesn't mean they are not effective in the battlefield, it just some of the equipment needs more maintenance than others) this is understood and the shop maintenance is carried out mostly in Poland, although it is a logistical problem Ukraine is better at logistics than the hapless Russians, and the occasional field reports posted on Youtube I watch confirm that the Ukraine shelling is far more accurate than Russia shelling, although they could do with more artillery pieces and ammunition as it is a trench style warfare!?!

Russia has, during the war, donated more equipment including Tanks to Ukraine which has helped them liberate the last three large swathes of its sovereign land from Russia, supplying Western tanks will not lessen Ukraine's attack capability to regain its sovereign territory, and the Western tanks are better than the Russian variety!?!

Europe as a whole has a good industrial base and can easily scale up to war level production if needed, it has done it previously in two world wars, and also with help from its wider western allies, Europe has some problems and will go into a minor recession, but Russia has major problems and will go into a major recession for decades!?!

Hopefully Ukraine can liberate all the 2022 land before Spring and Himars Donbas and Crimea targets for logistics and military targets for a victory in Autumn of 2023, but there is, unfortunately, a lot of battles to go before then!?!

At present there is no advantage to widening the front for Ukraine into Russia, Ukraine must concentrate on booting the Russians out, they need more air defence which is being supplied and will enable them to reduce the threat to Civilians over the Winter period, in Spring it won't make so much difference, however the air strikes are not hindering the Ukraine Army from their task so have very little effect on the outcome of the war, which hopefully will be a Ukraine victory, if at this time Russia still lobs missiles over, then Ukraine should be supplied with arms to attack their bases as required, after been given a warning that this will be the consequences, softly, softly catches 🐒!?!

  118.  @victorzvyagintsev1325  It's not included in their plans, for example, taking more than 3 to 4 days, Russia just took rucksacks and packed lunch as they wasn't expecting much opposition from Ukraine, the Russian soliders all booked holidays in Turkiye for the Weekend, and then the pesky Ukrainian's turned them back from the Capital and Karkhiv, they then had the audacity to launch a counter attack against Kherson and then hopefully Crimea, the Ukrainians are bogged down a bit and losing ground in Luhansk and Donetsk, but as Russia only gained 5% land from 2014 that's 6000 troops for each 1% so they need about half a million further deaths to achieve victory in Ukraine, meanwhile on the other hand those pesky Ukrainians need 40,000 troops to die to boot Russia out (Which will increase Russia's death toll to only 100,000)! This is without the full effect of sanctions being applied by the West, which will kick in by Spring next year, all in all a great victory for Putin, well we'll leave the Russian T.V. to sort that one out, they are pretty good at turning things upside down, or even, dare I say it, making things up!

  452.  @jerromedrakejr9332  Haha don't try and big up Russia, their ships are well out of range at present and are doing long range inaccurate missile attacks on civilian infrastructure of which 70 or 80% is currently being shot down, including drones, and will most probably increase to 90%, the air force is being reduced to missile attacks from Russia as it is becoming a no fly zone for them in Ukraine. Russia was going to take over Ukraine in three days, after the initial attack which Ukraine was not prepared for, the Ukrainian's have liberated three major areas and whilst Russia is attacking at present they have hardly progressed a few kilometres but at great loss of life and equipment, and it's 300 and odd days, the Russian economy is in tatters and it does not have the equipment or money to develop this war in its favour, it is stalling Ukraine but that will not last, and hopefully the barbaric Russians will be defeated this year!?!

I think it's more like Russia has used 310% of it's officially declared capacity, the only trouble is that 300% of that is actually in Vlad the Imploder and "The Oligarch's" pension fund, so more money has to come from the population to support the Ukrainian war, but they all give him high approval ratings, so no problem!

  464.  @chromicm6686  Russia's tanks are being humbled in Ukraine, they would hardly mount an invasion on Europe as it is most likely that they will not win in Ukraine, but you can't rule Putin out from anything at the moment, but I don't see a need for U.K. tanks in Europe for the foreseeable future, unless they are used by Ukraine. We are hardly likely to go toe to toe with China, if they attack Tawain we will be deploying ships to help the U.S. with embargoes, we will have a ten year period to build up our tanks and replace the ones given away, and that is doable and should cause minimal problems!?!

  465.  @chromicm6686  I do not agree that Russia will succeed in Ukraine, they have been losing the momentum except for a few towns/ villages in the Donbas, 50 U.K. tanks and 50-200 European tanks will make a big difference especially if used with armoured vehicles and troops and would ensure victory along with all the other equipment Ukraine has at it's disposal, also sending 100 mile range missiles will make every Russian target available to the Ukrainian's in Ukraine, that will be a logistic killer, we cannot stand back and do nothing in the face of Russian barbarism and should help Ukraine in its defence. It should also be noted that Germany supplied most of the funds for Russia to prosecute this war so supplying a few hundred measly tanks to Ukraine is the least they can do in my humble, but pointed, opinion!?!
