@billgibbard9449 U.K. is hardly likely to be fighting Russia or China on land anytime soon, if it is it will be part of NATO so the tanks remaining will do, so 50 tanks and support should be sent, with ammo, then a priority on the next tanks should be earmarked over the next decade for instance, that is if Germany further delays the sending of Leopard tanks after the 20/01/2022. Obviously it would make more sense for Leopards to be sent, but Germany somehow still doesn't get it, perhaps they want the Russians as their neighbours as they can get the energy overland then!?!

@chromicm6686 I would have thought that not doing anything is worse, like the German position, Russia winning the War affects everybody, and not in a good way, if they lose the war there will be serious problems as well, at the moment they are a basket case, but hopefully Ukraine can temper their ambitions and confine their antics to Russia!?!

@sjsomething4936 Precisely, nobody is going to invade the U.K. anytime soon, Russia is struggling in Ukraine, and hopefully will be ejected from Ukraine soon. China, if the need arises, will be tackled by NATO but hopefully China won't do anything Putinesski, the last U.K. war was tackled by Planes, ships and troops going to the Falklands, not a tank in sight, our other recent excursions were at the side of the U.S. and we were pretty useful and it involved tanks. So we just need to replace them over the next ten years, yes it is a cost, but not as much as Ukraine is paying for Russia's barbaric invasion!?!

@wombatski1000 Yes the ammo is the biggest problem as it's not a standard size, bit of an head scratcher but solutions are available, just needs the will!?!

@chromicm6686 Russia's tanks are being humbled in Ukraine, they would hardly mount an invasion on Europe as it is most likely that they will not win in Ukraine, but you can't rule Putin out from anything at the moment, but I don't see a need for U.K. tanks in Europe for the foreseeable future, unless they are used by Ukraine. We are hardly likely to go toe to toe with China, if they attack Tawain we will be deploying ships to help the U.S. with embargoes, we will have a ten year period to build up our tanks and replace the ones given away, and that is doable and should cause minimal problems!?!

@chromicm6686 I do not agree that Russia will succeed in Ukraine, they have been losing the momentum except for a few towns/ villages in the Donbas, 50 U.K. tanks and 50-200 European tanks will make a big difference especially if used with armoured vehicles and troops and would ensure victory along with all the other equipment Ukraine has at it's disposal, also sending 100 mile range missiles will make every Russian target available to the Ukrainian's in Ukraine, that will be a logistic killer, we cannot stand back and do nothing in the face of Russian barbarism and should help Ukraine in its defence. It should also be noted that Germany supplied most of the funds for Russia to prosecute this war so supplying a few hundred measly tanks to Ukraine is the least they can do in my humble, but pointed, opinion!?!
