  1. Russia has to directly attack NATO then it will respond majorly, anything else gives Russia a way of laying the blame on NATO by saying it's an accident and cry to the Chinese!?!

  2. NATO is not going to do anything unless Russia attacks a NATO country directly, then I would imagine an unexpected and major response will ensue, they dont want Russias actions to be passed off as an accident!?!
