  2. Don't be silly, they should have started from Manchester that's all, when that phase was complete then of course the Birmingham to London part would have been done, regardless of the maths, it would be justified!?!

  3. .....in London presumably, because it won't be up North, HS2 was to release the over congested Victorian lines but apparently that problem has gone away mysteriously, I suppose the train drivers strike has not helped, why give more jobs to them when car drivers don't strike and building more motorways attracts less criticism, even though it's environmentally far worse, but hey facts don't count these days just stupid petty interests, in total it's about 130 km of track it costs more money because it's got to go over or under lots of things and the eco bill is big, but we can only manage 100km the Victorians are turning in dismay!?!
