The UK is going to be majorly wind powered (Solar is fitted to the majority of new houses but is only useful in Summer when it's least needed), with natural gas backup until 2030-2035 when the new nuclear plants are fully online, then it will be Wind/ Nuclear / Gas, by 2040 UK is preparing to be energy independent and export 25% of its electricity generation even with the present energy storage problem which will mean big battery terminals (Hydro takes up to much room), hopefully better long term storage can be achieved before then!?!
