The CCP and Huawei are paying full price for their chips, which are still behind and hardly any other countries will buy what they make, its all cost and little gain, the West is disinterested in their progress and it cares little, the main concern is putting chip production facilities in the US and Europe!?!

  8. ​​ @antixocialman  China is the biggest exporter of goods but it only has a surplus on European and American markets, and these markets are reducing, however that is only half the picture as these exports are funded by non productive debt in the form of stimulus from the CCP, they give factories money to set themselves up and then further money when they reach maybe certain production targets or the like, so while China might show a surplus on its exports it has more to pay back for its stimulus packages, so the end result is debt, along with Chinese and Belt and Road non productive infrastructure investment the debt burden is 57 Trillion USD for this year, although some say 70 Trillion, anyway a lot!?!

Evergrande is effectively bust, the EV sector has its own problems but if they are able to sell it for a small margin or a big margin it will still be bust and not cover it's massive liabilities, the CCP has only allowed it to continue trading as it would cause the ailing property market deeper problems, so it's a number of years collapse while they look for a lifeline, but unfortunately Xi is cutting those at present, oh sorry it's all the West's fault I should have said in keeping with the CCP narrative, blame somebody else, especially the West so its leadership cannot be questioned!?!

The Western economy had to do without China to a great part during the COVID lockdowns, it has learnt that it is not such a great model to be dependent on an "irrational" country, which is also becoming increasingly hostile and also wants to adopt a "New World Order" presumably where they are the leading country, the only trouble is none of the other major countries want to change the status quo, the system works well for democratic states (I am not classing Russia as a main country as it's GDP is going to be the fifth largest in Europe next year below Italy's!). So China is becoming increasingly difficult to do business in but it wants to export freely to the world, it wants investors money but not much security guarantees over the investment which has high risks, and therefore China is making itself uneconomic to trade, to start businessess, to invest, the World will find alternatives and China will be a smaller part of that alternative than it is at present!?!

The CCP is stopping the prices from falling at present with price regulations, if it was under normal supply and demand home prices would more than likely fall by more than 50%, some regions more some less, but at present the CCP is performing a King Canute with the tide of the property problem!?!

  18. ​ @alwaysloveorange  The Chinese companies can sell their vehicles into the US when they comply with US regulations, they will also attract a 20 odd % tariff due to being subsidised by the Chinese State, the EU has Chinese companies under investigation for same as it is not allowed for European companies to receive state subsides, it's called a level playing field!?!

  19. ​ @tonysu8860  The US Federal Reserve has been remarkably clear, inflation is their biggest risk it has increased interest rates, inflation is coming down, it would have much preferred the US citizens to take control of its spending and then it would not be necessary (Ditto most Western Economies although Mainland Europe did have the energy debacle caused by its dependence on Russian energy). However that is a minor pickle mostly left over from the supply chain effects from COVID. Both Russia and China have far bigger problems which might blight them for decades!?!

China wants foreign investors but instead of fixing its many systemic problems it seems fixated on starting a war in Tawain, which will surely drive the remaining businesses (I don't really know why they are there at this point as the risks are so high) away from China at a rate of knots, it is compounding it's errors in governance at present, the Wider West will not accept China ruling Tawain even if it does take it over, it will be heavily sanctioned just like Russia for decades and it's neighbours will be far more aggressive to Chinas incursions, and for whatever reason it does take it over will pail into insignificance for the true cost of war, nobody is threatening China, Tawain is not going for further independence than it has at present, the US is not pushing Tawain to alter the status quo, and yet China is jumping up and down with uncontrollable rage with each year of Xi's leadership, it really is getting to a level now where the Wider West should pull the plug with China!?!

  24. The CCP is choosing a path of nationalistic attrition, all its efforts seem to be concentrated on a "decoupling" from the US (....and Wider West) with regard to food, energy, finance and tech. (Although it's not able to do the high end stuff). It still wants to trade with the Wider West but under its "rules" which seems rather bizarre, why would the US and Wider West want to accept that, the limitless freibdship with Russia (who are a G20 + economy at present) doesn't give them any real advantage!?!

China has a big domestic market which appeals to investors, but its whole structure is failing under its systemic problems, the property market will never return as by 2100 China's population is forecast to be 800 million or less and the majority will be over 50, it has about 150 million empty or unbuilt homes with 500 million occupied homes, China builds on average 6 Million homes per year so it has 25 years supply (If they finish off the unfinished ones which are about 60 million) it needs to be reset by a 50% reduction in prices and a 90% reduction in building!?!

  43. The US is the Number 1 economy with a quarter of the population of China which is forecast to replace itself. China's population is going to reduce to 800 million by 2100, that will mean its economy will also reduce further as it will be top heavy by the elderly during most of this century, it already is in decline as all its growth streams have failed or are failing. Russia is one cent to the Rouble, they are no longer a land army or navy threat to any major military in the World, they have nuclear but that's a one trick pony, and so do most of the major military in one way or another!?!

China rigs the stock market then China says (As it it did recently in the US to top CEO's etc.) it's open for business, Blimey Charlie if that doesn't scare them away nothing will, they are doing everything except to address the problems that bought them to this point in the first place, of which there are several major ones, Xi is not an economist he is a Maoist, all Chinese citizens savings will bail out the banks, property and local governments and when they go to use it........!?!

Yes it's funny to see a "not decoupling" stance in the US recently and yet the Chinese are making it almost certain that decoupling will majorly take place by these actions, which are most baffling, the West must stand up to this intimidation and bring in further measures to counteract them, the US (...and Europe) must change its stance to decouple!?!
