If they are not, their health care system will be overrun with unvaccinated old people (over 50) hospitalisations or deaths, you can't have one without the other, it's either lockdowns for everyone or viable vaccinations for people over 50 and those with a health condition, there will be a few of them!?!

China's stock market has seen big falls, it's had a speculative increase based on easing of COVID, which doesn't seem to be happening (They will have bigger health problems if they cease lockdowns without vaccinations), quite the opposite, more lockdowns are looming, which will ensure another market correction, the property market is still readjusting to the new normal and requires more debt to fill it's sizeable liquidity problems, so China is contracting, it will have highs and lows, but is definitely heading downwards with a slow puncture, unless it can utilise loads more non productive debt!?!

Without viable vaccines high risk persons (Anybody over 50 and younger people with an underlying condition) may, to a high degree, require hospitalisation if they contract COVID, lockdowns are not so effective if most of the population is carrying the disease as this is then passed on by relatives or care workers who may not have symptoms and pass COVID tests, that is what caused the larger loss of life in the West before vaccines, the only safe way out of COVID is effective vaccines (Total lockdowns work obviously but are rather unnecessary if vaccines are implemented!)

There is a property market in China but 15% of GDP not 30% of GDP which it is at present, the developers have over extended themselves for a number of years and Xi yanked them back in one hit with three "red" lines, the problem is that it's a loss of 2.5 trillion U.S. each year on GDP, Xi wants the property market sorted (Looks like it's being nationalised) but also wants the GDP, maybe shared common prosperity will come up large in the near future to plug the gap (Share it to Xi that is)!?!

I do feel sorry for the ordinary citizens living in China (To a certain extent, they mostly put up with the C.C.P. after all), but lockdowns are necessary if a vaccine programme is not implemented. In the first 12 months of the epidemic in the West before vaccines the threat of COVID (without zero lockdown which would be difficult to apply fully in the West) was high and so was the loss of life. After the introduction of vaccines this greatly reduced the risk of hospitalisation and deaths from COVID to flu levels and isn't a major threat any more. The C.C.P. therefore has two roads to follow, but at the moment it is the lockdown path that looks like the direction of travel, so it most probably will go on for "at least" three more years of misery, so buckle up, it will pass!?!
