It is people over 55 and younger ones with medical complications that "can" suffer from long COVID and death, this increases by a factor of three to five times in unvaccinated people in that category compared to ones who are vaccinated. People under 55 will mostly have mild symptoms. The U.S. has a higher health care provision than China with about 20 beds per 100,000 people, whilst China's is about 3.5, so if there is a health care crisis things can get out of hand pretty quick!?!

Yarp, tired health care workers are more likely to develop severe COVID symptoms and reduce the workforce!?!

@movdqa Yes it's a number of factors, I do not believe that the C.C.P. has lost its bite and will exercise it when required, and things may get a lot worse in all departments before it gets better!?!

I hope it remains a sense of relief, or for nothing, as the West had higher death rates as Initially there was not an effective vaccine(s), once the populations had their inoculations it has since been treated like the flu. Zero Lockdowns could not operate in the West like they did in China and I will leave it at that. China in the meantime, while carrying out these Lockdowns, has not further vaccinated the vulnerable people who may be subject to long COVID or death, it has been reported (from China) that a lot of elderly people have not been vaccinated at all (Who are the most vulnerable), so the Chinese seems to be heading for a health care emergency, which would be most regrettable, it was a terrible time for the West when that occured!?!
