They are building coal plants as a reserve for renewables, they have great potential for renewables but all in the wrong place, so the grid networks need to be updated at a cost of Trillions of USD, so perhaps coal will be used more in this interim period, they are building substantial amounts of Nuclear but that seems only for minimum capacity, they still have a load of infrastructure to sort out!?!
