@azamarabear The way China presently operates it can only work in China, as some of the reforms needed for its continued growth will reduce the role of the C.C.P., and that isn't going to happen anytime soon. For it to be the World's financial centre it first has to get the debt level (300% of G.D.P. and rising) under control, its growth since about 2008 has been largely fueled by non-productive property and infrastructure debt, it's continued growth will be subject to even more debt, therefore it is already in decline!?!

@floxy20 China's exports before COVID have on the whole been a bit below par, but since COVID they have sacrificed any sort of standard for the majority of their goods to enable their G.D.P. to be "maintained" it will cost money to replace a substantial amount of Chinese exports, but in the long run it will be a saving, in quality, pollution and security!?!

Parts of a country will do better than other parts due to location and leadership, so an assessment has to be made on the whole, I would imagine that the poor in the U.S. or the Wider West are not as poor as the Chinese, and overall more hardship exists in China than the Wider West. The C.C.P. makes ungovernable China governable because it has next to zero tolerance of dissent, so all its regions while locally run is controlled by the C.C.P. If it was all a democracy (Democracy only works with a majority of like minded people) it would not exist as China and would probably be 4 to 6 separate regions, with the richer ones separate from the not so rich ones!?!
