The reserve currency has to be stable, and not drowning in debt, China's debt is 300% of GDP and rising, U.S. is around 110%. China currency is mostly the reserve currency of last resort to pariah states, India agreeing to deals in Yuan seems a little strange but it might be for specific reasons not elaborated on. As alluded to, the main reserve currency has to be creditworthy (To foreign investors) and transparent of which China would fail on these parameters. So it is unlikely to replace the dollar reserve currency in the Wider West, black balled Autocrats only need apply!?!

The C.C.P. on both COVID and property have jumped from the frying pan and into the fire, it appears to be making terrible forced changes to direction and therefore the economy must be in dire straits and everything must be secondary to that priority is the new plan, this is going to increase debt at an unprecedented rate, and the cost to the elderly and vulnerable people of China will also be great in the near future, it is truly unfathomable as better options (Well I suppose there is no good option for property, it just has to reduce to the real market demand which is 40 to 50% less, in China the population will reduce by the size of the U.S. population by 2040-2050, I.E. 350 million less, by 2100 it will be a further 350 million less!) existed but, in the end, were squandered!?!

The whole thing must be driven by the economy, that is the C.C.P. policy now, the looking after its citizens has taken a back seat, hopefully not in a big black car!?!

@skydragon23101979 I am flabbergasted, the elderly (....and the vulnerable) appear to either not had vaccinations or very little vaccinations, which is the category that should have the most vaccinations, this is how it was controlled in the West, and the Chinese workers have had more vaccinations who are less likely by a big factor to have long COVID or die, this is very bad news as the lockdowns should have been augmented with a vaccination programme, also a high percentage of overstretched health care workers in the initial phases of the pandemic contracted long COVID as a result of being overstretched!?!

@kennethli8 Hasn't the C.C.P. blocked (Or made it extremely difficult) for most elites from leaving the country (Which is why they would want to be "holding folding" dollars)!?!
