  1. It is Russia who is the bad guy here, not Europe, by invading Ukraine and committing human rights atrocities in the process, as well as cutting off the energy and food supplies. Mainland Europe hasn't helped matters by being dependent on Russian gas (40 odd %). However Russia is dependent on Europe for 86% of its gas exports so there will only be one winner there. For a temporary period Europe has to transition from Russian Energy, and various schemes are being introduced to help consumers pay high bills, in the long term Europe will be better off without funding the Russian War Machine! China next!
