@guido_aka_guy Patriot hasn't intercepted a hypersonic Glide vehicle? unless you mean the Kinzhal which is an air launched ballistic missile......and all ballistic missiles are hypersonic and have been since the 60s

@CarbonatedGravy putin only ever called the Kinzhal a strategic weapon he never claimed it was an HGV, again the first mention of the kinzhal being an HGV was from Ukriniform also just a headsup, the Avangard (which is a HGV) has been used several times im Ukraine and even the US has stated the Patriot air defense system would have a near impossible chance at downing one

@mfallen2023 so does the US? and nowhere in the official designation of the Kinzhal is it labeled hypersonic? the first mentions of "hypersonic" from media sources was from Ukriniform, the RUAF calls the Kinzhal a "modified Iskander missile, modified for Air Launch" also we have seen HGV in Ukraine, to date Ukraine hasn't intercepted an HGV from Russia

@gae_wead_dad_6914 ah apologies, got my missiles mixed up, it was the 3M22 Zircon HGV, Ukriniform reported its first use against ground targets, they claimed to down up but multiple defense analysts stated the wreckage photos provided by Ukraine were more consistent with the body of a Kinzhal or Iskander than a Zircon I dont really like to use Russian or Ukrainian sources as both are heavily biased and almost always from State Propaganda services oh and just a heads up not sure where you got Avangard was still in development? because according to the US DOD the Avangard system has been in service since 2019 when the first unit was equipped with them
