Us easily whipped afghanistan forces with minimal effort. The others in the country werent able to take over and implement their own government and run the country themselves due to much instability in that part of the world. US wasnt going to stay there forever to ensure the peace. 20 years was long enough. On the other hand RUssia did get whipped and run right out of Afghanistan. Beaten by goat herders.

@saifulislam6091 Over TWENTY years.... Trying to let the country get its own governent and support system together and take and keep their own country. OBviously a mistake. Yes, Id say minimal effort. Such a small portion of our military might was used to take and secure the country. That was the point. As for cost, heck one patriot missle costs well over a million......

@joexavier4070 USA are keepers of the peace. No different than police needing to go to someones house to arrest them. Passive doesnt cut it in justice. The bad guys arent.
