So does the US. Maybe Japan also realizes the US have antimissile systems all around Russia throughout europe, including in Russian neighbors, with more on the way lol, capable of swatting Russias intercontinental missiles before they ever even leave the silos. lol. Russia cant say the same when it comes to them defending against US.

Really?? Is that why PUtin not too long ago was BEGGING for US to lift the sanctions and they would reinstall the Ukraine grain deal??? ha ha ha. Maybe you can enlighten us all on why THAT happened? ha ha ha. "Putin says the deal that allowed Ukraine to export grain will not be restored until the West lifts embargo on Russia." :text-green-game-over: @JustaGuess.

THe world watched the US beat Iraq easily and their leader was hung by a tree branch. The world watched vietnam as 1.1 MILLION vietkong died vs. 58000 Us soldiers deceased. And the world watched afghanistan be slaughtered easily in a week, then run and hide for 20 years... While the US held their nation for 20 years and the entire time from start to finish, the US lost on 2400 Men. ...That many afghanis died the first day of the war. Hope the history lesson cleared up your confusion! Have a nice day! @ssaini5028

USSR NEVER actually own any war.... They were flat out destroyed in ww2 by hitler, saved only by the US. 20 million russian soldier killed during that time. USSR lost in humiliating fashion to afghanistan. Afghanistan even has a holiday to celebrate the even every april 28. MUJAHIDEEN VICTORY DAY. And of course USSR falling about into 15 pieces immediately after makes it hard to forget also! lol @@alextim6961

It was one of the most horrible and brutal regimes in history and most Japanese know that, are embarrassed by it, and understand full well why the US did what they did. They also know is is not the fault of the current citizens and government of Japan, but a part of history to learn from, to never allow their country to make those kind of horrible mistakes again.. @cellphone7223

But like snakes, they cannot be trusted, and nobody including Japan, does.

Sorry kid, not really military allies in any way. China even refused to provide weapons to Russia when Putin went to Xi begging... Its more like two misfits talking about a partnership that doesnt exist because they dont like or trust each other...but they both have no friends, are all alone, and both hate the USA more than they do each other.. @DariusVanTonder

After seeing Russia against Ukraine, I dont think there are many within the top 10 militaries that fears russia at all, frankly. @cndrih

Not one sane rational individual on earth believes that could ever happen. @cndrih

And saved millions of lives by doing so. An invasion would have cost far far more combined US and Japanese lives than that. Dont forget it was a country whose brutal horrible regime had to be removed, like Hitler.

Nope. Thats a 100% absolute lie. And while its not known what "ideas" were floating around in some Japan officials heads, some things we know are that these things were not going to be challenged or changed in any way: Hirohito would stay emperor, Japan wouldn't be demilitarized or occupied and they'd handle their own war crime trials if any type of peace deal were ever considered. The reason we know this is that some of these ideas were floated by third parties and immediately and vehemiently shot down. And anything at all less than getting rid of Hirohito, trying the war criminals and demilitarizing them .... are only to be expected by any rational human being, given the situation. There is also absolutely no evidence Japan considered any intention of "surrendering" at all. None. Just some clueless folks wishful thinking, wanting one more false reason to try to demonize US and the west. Even though the US saved russia in the same war.

RUssia has been using everything they can, the huge majority of their capabilities with missile factories running full blast to replace the stockpiles. Also 97% of Russia active forces have been in ukraine. And STILL losing to the nation with no real airforce or navy. @florianwirtz6351
