@chanchalkumar2363 taliban was ruling afghanistan before US ever went their kid. Getting rid of them was never the goal. US went there to smash alquaeda. And goal was met. Taliban simply got in the way and paid for it.

@gurugemblunk all americas advancement caused US yo whip afghanis quicklhy and sent them into hiding for 20 years...allowed them to achieve their goal of smashing alquaeda. Allowed them to also smash over 50000 taliban troops. And allowed them to only lose 2400 men the entire time. Yeah, world record loss... only time in history a nation lost 20 times less men, achieved goal and lost war! Bahahaha.

Taliban ruled before us got there. Taliban was never the goal. They just wanted to be difficult, got in the way, and got run over. They were permitted to have the wasteland afterwards... who else would want it??? Lol

@gurugemblunk russia already lost to afghanistan ... so they are no step up! USSR got smoked by afghanis in late 1980s.. they fell apart immediately after running out. Now just russia... afghanis even have a holiday now, every apri 28th, Mujahideen Victory Day. Ukraine has already tried russia and shown us all we need to know. They have around 1/1000th the weapons capabilities of the US. Not hard to figure out what would happen vs the US...and even worse if all of nato. Bad day for the bear...

@IsmailFakri why would they want any of their men to die and have to expend many more weapons? US has other obligations around the world and no real obligation to ukraine. Its much more damaging to russia to fight a long costly war than to be quickly pushec out anyway. Ukraine is doing a fine job.

@IsmailFakri its obviously not a short war. And its s very costly war for russia. Russia is also losing more men and equipment. Although they do have more to lose... At any rate, nato would like yo see russia damaged. Military capabilitywise and economy on into the future. And that is inevitably in progress. Those things i can guarantee you arr thee unspoken goals. Ukraine is doing a fine job. If nato was concerned with getting russia out quickly and efficiently, explain why US only gave 31 of their 5500 abrams.... nearly no long range munitions. No top end choppers. No jets. Only 24 of their hundreds of himars. Etc.. all the good stuff they gave very little or none of compared to their own supply. The rest of nato has given equally small portions of their supply other than rock bottom basics like artillery and short range missiles. If us were to get directly involved it would be over in a month, tops. If nato gave as much as they could with only ukraine doing the fighting russia would likely be out in 6 months.

Had ti leave the war without accomplushing goal, ussr fell apart immediately after...and afghanis have a national holiday to never forget: mujahideen victory day every april 28.... US lost only 2400 men in 20 years! Taliban ran and hid, every time they came out, were anihilated. 50000 taliban killed. The goal and reason for US being there was not ti deatroy taliban. They simply got in the way. They were there to smash alquaeda and that was accomplished. Ask bin ladin. There is not a single measure that points ti anything othet than a humiliating ussd loss and a win in extremely lopsided fashion for USA

@Musicguy0007 uh.... they didnt want it. General milly explained that hard used junk wouldve been more expensive to haul all back home than it was actually worth. Makes sense, since they were there 20 years in a desert environment. And air support is importsnt part of any successful military. What do you want? Old british military style? Two lines of men facing each other in an open field with muskets with bayonettes?
