  11.  @KoRnBulleT  Wrong. 1. The goal was and is to take ALL of Ukraine. Quit lying. Thats not even debatable. 2. The reason they arent bringing in more troops at a time if because A) They can keep refilling the ranks since they are so nearby, without them having to be in Ukraine. B) It would create areas of TOO MANY troops too close together and it would GREATLY increase their losses without really increasing their firepower much. There are "ideal" densities that they factor into the equation. If you are in a war and the opposition sees you having many soldiers huddled up together, thats where the bombs etc. are going and they will be drooling... It also forces them to pace themselves so they don't run out of troops too soon. They also need troops on alert in Russia due to so many nato forces nearby who may be looking to take advantage of their weakened state or to repel an attack by Ukraine on Russian soil. They have alternating troops for periods of rest etc that they must factor in etc.. Its not so simple as bring in as many men as you can and use them as cannon fodder. There is method to the madness.

They want the glory days of the USSR back and they attacked them because they knew they were pushing to be part of nato and if they were taken it, Ukraine would have been lost to Russia forever. They have time to plot the retaking of the other countries that were within USSR. They had no time to wait, with ukraine. Russia moving people in is just symbolic and to stroke their ego. The can move out just as quickly as they move in. They can also be civilian casualties. Only a moron would move into those cities this soon.

  17. @Karl von Bahnhof US destroyed opposition in afghanistan immediately and took the whole country. Basically very few skirmishes after that for the next 20 years. They held the entire country the entire time. The enemy stayed basically in hiding. US was just there to ensure stability while government etc. were allowed to grow and stabilize and strengthen, and it was hoped they could govern and defend themselves... And they simply couldnt do it. The entire time there, US only lost around 3000 men. Vietnam was similar in one respect, the enemy largely hid. Hid among locals. Hid in the jungles. Not always direct warfare such as is the case in Ukraine. Ukraine also has no jungles or mountains or terrain conducive to "hiding"... IN that scenario, US alone or with nato would wipe Russia out of Ukraine in months. Or less. Guaranteed. Going toe to toe, no "guerilla warfare" with US troops and US airpower, naval power, etc.. It would be a very short affair. After 14 months, Russia occupies less than 25% of Ukraine.

  20. WOW 10 months.... RUssia is even more inept than i had originally thought. I have seen others laugh at Russia for needing 8 months... I too thought it was 8. But it has actually been TEN. WOW.
