Helping the regime who were US friendly was a secondary goal and only a favor to factions that were helpful while us was there... US did their duty and stayed to give them a chance. THEY failed when it came to being able to take the opportunity they were given. Afghanistan holds little strategic value to the us at this time. Look at the bright side. The US didnt give afghans another holiday, as the USSR did for LOSING> ha ha ha.

  14.  @monumentaltravel3745  Nuking Japan was a very good idea. It was against a HORRIBLE regime, and the act probably saved a million plus lives by ending the war. Otherwise, Nato and others would have been attacking Japan and both sides would have lost astronomical numbers of troops... not to mention of course countless civilians... as well as spending billions of more dollars... Avoiding all that was the goal, and it was 100% successful. Also Japan had no nukes so there was no danger of further nuclear escalation.

  15. Nations will do as they please. Free countries can join nato if the two parties agree. Doesnt matter what the third party country thinks... They are welcome to try and stop it, but they will pay with their nations mens lives. And Russia is learning that the hard way.

Russia is paying all their own way. And the ruble continues to plummet in russia. 1 us dollar is now equal to 91 rubles! ha ha ha. The extreme decline of the russian economy is absolutely inevitable. Full effects of the sanctions are not immediately evident, they are a long term drain... And the war is FAR from over. lol. The manipulation and bandaids putins people are applying to temporarily hide the decline and make it "look" less obvious aren't going to last... Enjoy your future. lol.

Actually much better than nato fighting... Not losing any of their own men... More humiliation for russia. And the war is longer than it wouldve been otherwise (nato wouldve slapped the chit out of them quickly and much neater lol) but the longer war will have much more long term effects when it finally does end, to both russian economy and military abilities..,, A much quicker win by nato sending russia scurrying back to the homeland wouldve been much better for Russia.
