"The Jimmy Dore" issue? There isn't one. It's about Medicare For ALL.
109
@afterburner5560 He might go. Dr. West has a generous spirit, and did a tribute to Michael Brooks recently. The point is, these scolds trying to paint Dore as anathema could not be more wrong.

There is something about Sam Seder that I like. He has got to rethink this. See what Katie Halper and Briahna Joy Gray have to say. Krystal's editorial the other day. Kyle Kulinski.

Bellingcat claimed without evidence that a lobbyist organization with hidden ties to Assad corrupted Jimmy Dore with $2500. First of all, Dore has made it clear that his price is much higher. I think that someone who "wants to be a millionaire" either asks for more than that, or is profoundly math challenged. /s Have you yourselves verified that the organization was indeed a front, and that Dore either knew or didn't know and didn't care, before "educating" us? It was styled as a prize for independent journalism, according to Bellingcat itself. (P. S. I could have sworn the word you were looking for was "inform.")

You could read Briahna Joy Gray's article.
8
@interdimensionalsteve8172 Which is why Katie Halper, Krystal Ball, and Briahna Joy Gray have all been duped, by an illiterate comic broadcasting from his garage.
7
@IcarusLime I really mean it about Sam. The other two are very self-important and abrasive, but Sam has a decent vibe. Honestly, I think so. Also, notice how tentative he is about disagreeing with this strategy, plus he did not endorse the Assad innuendo. That was a "tell."
6
@daishan1234 Yes, exactly, and why did they? So many people swooped in on Amy Coney Barrett and attacked her personally, when what they should have done was to stop any nomination from taking place while the country was already in early voting. Literally took the worst course. Horrible. Those personal attacks against ACB were performative! And ugly. She has had tragedies in her life. But she did not belong on any federal court, let alone the Supreme Court, replacing Justice Ginsburg. Did they stop that? NO.
5
Yes, people without health care are vulnerable now. Please "educate" them. /s
5
@chiritarisu He's walking back on the strategy as well, but not like the other speakers in this segment, who are firmly opposed.
4
@jakecorenthose2901 Oh brother, here we go again. You bought into the "we're smart, he's dumb" trope. Now you have got to know that one doesn't work.
4
@jramir2 Nope. Asking them to start doing some real work to represent our interests, otherwise known as "their jobs," or expect to get primaried. Enough playing with lobbyists and fundraising. There is a crisis now. No more excursions to French Laundry restaurant.
4
It's not about failing to understand what goes on "in the halls of power." It is about having no idea what it is like to face bankruptcy because of illness. Jimmy does know. That's what his allegedly "vulnerable," unwashed "fans" do perceive.
3
@Horus070 I know to expect your smears. Try a more believable one. Even the gilets jaunes got this one, LOL.
3
@Horus070 Um, just curious -- why are you missing articles? I ask because you attacked me ad hominem.
3
@magdelanax2122 Oh my goodness, now we see some real substantive responses. "N" just made a very solid point.
3
@magdelanax2122 The only country without universal health care is the country with the most COVID deaths. Your spiel was plausible in 2019. This is 2020. The House LOST Democrats, and Krystal Ball demonstrated that the more centrist/corporatist the Democrat, the more likely they were to have lost their seat.
3
@Mistyfire I'm no longer sure these are real people we are (supposedly) talking to. The insurance lobby is very strong, the FIRE sector precarious (Finance, Insurance, Real Estate). Anyway, my laundry is done. ;)
3
@magdelanax2122 You really think Katie Halper, Kyle Kulinsky, Krystal Ball, AND Briahna Joy Gray are in it out of an "unhelpful desire for money and attention??" Truly, is this what you think? And I think anyone focusing on Dore instead of the urgent ISSUE at hand has confused substance with a desire for ego gratification, and praise for their reading list. I also think anyone who insinuates he is in it for the money is too concerned with money themselves.
3
@magdelanax2122 Why is every single one of you so wedded to ad hominem? I can't relate.
3
@sirtoby4939 Because we have not just had and are not having a pandemic, and a depression-era economy for millions. Nothing has changed since the 1990s, 2009, etc., or 2019 for that matter. Why the masks, and the small business shutdowns, tell me again? I thought it was about public health, not to make Amazon stock go up.
3
@Kyarrix Yes, she is wrong. This is a huge innuendo to toss off as though it requires no evidence, "because Jimmy Dore." Bellingcat claimed without evidence that a lobbyist organization with hidden ties to Assad corrupted Jimmy Dore with $2500. First of all, Dore has made it clear that his price is much higher. /s I think that someone who "wants to be a millionaire" either asks for more than that, or is profoundly math challenged. /s Has this journalist herself verified that the organization was indeed a front, and that Dore either knew, or didn't know and didn't care, before "educating" us? It was styled as a prize for independent journalism, according to Bellingcat itself. (P. S. I could have sworn the word she were looking for was "inform.")
3
@wvu05 Great. Now you tell me why, after swallowing Biden, we just HAVE to support Chocolate Bunker Nancy. Why not Ro Khanna for Speaker?
2
@jakecorenthose2901 Well, then you will have to account for all the solid arguments advanced by Krystal Ball and Briahna Joy Gray, among others, for pursuing this strategy at this time. You'll also have to concede that the pandemic is real, has killed more people here than anywhere, has thrown millions out of work, and that a needed change that has been on the table for two generations has yet to be enacted using the old tactics. If you know a better way, absolutely suggest it now. No problem.
2
@Horus070 Where did I criticize Katie Halper? Krystal? Briahna? Etc. Why do you keep lying? It's weird.
2
@dip.2271 Pelosi lost seats in 2020. Now there is real leverage. Sorry you overlooked that fact.
2
@magdelanax2122 I think it may be your turn to offer some solutions REAL QUICK. Hm?
2
@magdelanax2122 That's not the issue. P. S. Ya got a mirror handy?
2
@GlobalTransformationProject I don't want to make this about personalities. I do not want to resemble Sam Seder in any way whatsoever right now. :D
2
@sirtoby4939 Excellent. Perfect! It is a win-win in that respect.
2
@wvu05 How do you know it is "Assad money?" You know the organization was an Assad front, and the Jimmy knew, too? Pfft. Did you ever read "Who Paid the Piper -- The CIA and the Cultural Cold War," by Frances Stonor Saunders? Some of the greatest writers of the 20th century unknowingly did the CIA's work and were subsidized by the CIA.
1
@mysticonthehill You believe some anonymous person on the Internet that easily?
1
He was bankrupted by medical bills. He is 55 now. He lived in a tiny bungalow for 23 years. Anyone who saw his videos on Thursday, including with Briahna Joy Gray (a true joy) knows he cares.
1
@cmbsoldja Apparently this is your story. You'll have to substantiate it.
1
Anyone who saw the two videos he posted on Dec 17 knows he is sincere. He had to file for bankruptcy due to health care costs. He is 55, he lived in a small bungalow fir 23 years, since his early 30s.
1
It will be used until it stops working. I think we're there. ;)
1
@xyzsame4081 Amen to all, and thank you for sharing real insights and information.
1
@devalapar7878 DUH. They could REFUSE TO PASS SOMETHING ELSE -- like raising the debt ceiling, as just one example. It's called fighting. It's also called strategizing. That is why you buttonhole Republican Senators you know might be vulnerable in the next election, and you implore them in private, before any nomination is announced, to stick to the principle they claimed to support when OBAMA was refused his nominee in advance of the 2016 election. This nomination was made during early voting. So these people are powerless? They are conveniently powerless in the face of MONEY and monied interests, PERIOD. And they took the worst possible course with Barrett, who should never have been a federal judge in the first place. Seeing her tormented, then seated (!!!), left a bad taste in my mouth -- and I'm practically a "commie" by American lights.
1
But they are here to "educate" us.
1
@jakecorenthose2901 Really? I hate anti-intellectualism.
1
@ellharney3332 My response to another post, six months ago: @Jake Corenthose Well, then you will have to account for all the solid arguments advanced by Krystal Ball and Briahna Joy Gray, among others, for pursuing this strategy at this time. You'll also have to concede that the pandemic is real, has killed more people here than anywhere, has thrown millions out of work, and that a needed change that has been on the table for two generations has yet to be enacted using the old tactics. If you know a better way, absolutely suggest it now. No problem.
1
Well then you know next to nothing about his current positions.
1
@magdelanax2122 So he just duped some of the finest commentators and most astute political minds in the country? Wow.
1
@magdelanax2122 It's not about Dore. Remarkably many people want massive action right now, because they are not naive about the lives of the four bottom quartiles.
