That those who resisted were extremely rare, like SOPHIE SCHOLL, makes it all the more important to remember them. Doesn't it??

  7.  @markmarshall5234  What does cut and paste prove? A lot of people have Jews among their ancestors, especially in Russia and Ukraine. That doesn't mean they themselves are Jewish. Lenin's mother had some German Jewish ancestors on her father's side, and her maternal ancestry was Swedish. She was Russian Orthodox. This is from two centuries ago. If your maternal line is not Jewish and you do not convert to Judaism, you are not Jewish. Your father and your mother's father may be, but you are not, unless you convert. If your maternal line is Jewish and you convert away from Judaism, then you are not Jewish. There are a lot of ways not to be Jewish. Both of my parents had some Jewish ancestry on their fathers' sides, but it occurred to no one to consider them Jewish until Hitler showed up.

You must have seen the string of talking heads that said -- over and over -- that neo-Nazis could not be a major presence in Ukrainian militias because Zelensky is Jewish. It's ridiculous as a premise, but all right, I'll bite: show me he really is Jewish. The more it is repeated, the more skeptical I am. I'm not suggesting he's not. I'm saying I won't believe it absent more substantial evidence --- especially after the Canadian parliament fiasco. But that's just me, a born skeptic. 🤨

Dollar hegemony relies more and more on military might, not on the productivity of the real economy making settling accounts in dollars desirable. Even Adam Smith would condemn the power of the rentier class in power today as antithetical to real economic growth. I find it striking that the escalation of the war has not hurt Russia's standing outside the West. Really not at all. I am not Western, either, but I'm not so pleased by this. It's just not true that Putin has managed this correctly; the fact that the US and NATO are worse doesn't make him right. I hope the other BRICS members and their allies are approaching the US behind the scenes to implore them to end this proxy war. After all, China owns a good chunk of our debt. They don't want to pay for our Nazis.
