  13. We have to be able to discuss the fact that there exist significant groups that do, in fact, believe X and are fully persuaded that X is true, and prepared to act on that belief, even though X itself is at best dubious and probably outright false.

  17. It's working for a lot of people. The top ten percent have unimaginable affluence, and that's over 30 million people, a decent-sized country. They don't live in the world you see here. Some of them are thinking of a way to cash in; don't think none of their portfolios have shares of gun manufacturers in them. Their brokers make sure they do.

  18.  @nathanfielure4305  Me too. I'm emigrating by 2024, and it feels akin to leaving a domestic abuser. It's only hard for a short time. Every "Next Big Thing" that was cooked up over the last four decades has "somehow" harmed my family. Somehow, someone always made a buck, though. Every time.
