  2. No, this is significant plagiarism. Wherever a writer omits quotations or the citation of source, it is plagiarism. It is not academic fraud, true. But no one said it was. The fact that she is getting support from the people who she plagiarized is politics. But her persecution is far and away more political. This was a squabble between billionaires. But what I really think: not one of those three Ivy-league university presidents gave a spirited defense of the First Amendment and the importance of having First Amendment fora on campus, or showed any concern for the feelings of bewildered and frightened students, for that matter. You can do both.
