  1. Look up the deaths per million on Worldometer. NO developed country has our death rate from COVID. No, not Italy. Not Sweden, which rejected a lockdown. Not UK. No one. Just like no developed country had a wave of drug overdose deaths during this pandemic like the US did. None.

  8. I thought public funding -- "Operation Warp Speed" -- and various not-for-profit institutions, like Oxford University and other research institutes all over the world, developed these vaccines. The manufacturers could produce for cost. Amazon and Tesla, among many others, seemed to do fine without profits for years on end, I wonder how that worked . . .

  9.  @lm3049  You do make good points. I think we'd actually have to discuss this in person, al length, to come to some sort of conclusion that can stand up to scrutiny. I have noticed that a lot of wealthy people at risk have been brought back from the brink, with treatments most of us cannot hope to afford. That observation does not negate your points, true.
