@huwhitecavebeast1972 Actually, the Soviets solved homelessness and built phenomenal public transit. But yeah, in many ways they were like a sick cult. At least they knew they had to work, to fulfill minimum obligations to people. They couldn't, like, trade stock on insider information and stuff like that to get rich.

Mine, too. I walked to school four times a day, morning, for lunch break, and at the end of the day. Not only that, my parents took me to Los Angeles on Route 66 in the back seat of a used Chevy with a rebuilt engine and no AC. We had an open umbrella in the back to keep the sun out of my eyes. No seat belts. Chicago girl, Jimmy's generation.

I cannot tell you how sorry I am. Notice that no one is incredulous. We know this is what happens. I have no words, truly.

@mp5249 You are an angel.

@lukemehalick370 He says this to a mother who buried her child? And his sick post isn't "hate speech," a violation of "community standards?" Wow, just wow.

@thing1thing2themediamaniac43 You misunderstood completely. @lukemehalick370 criticized a post that was ultimately removed, and I agreed with him. The post blamed . . . never mind. I will not repeat it.

@thing1thing2themediamaniac43 This was a direct attack on a person, not a general opinion. In principle, I agree. I did not say the speaker should be silenced; I think a direct, personal attack on the OP is a different matter -- you can take down a particular post or shadow a post without removing the person who posted. In "real life," the post could be considered intentional infliction of emotional distress on a vulnerable person. For example, you cannot directly abuse the bereaved, right to their face, the Westboro Baptist Church case notwithstanding (they kept a distance and made a -- very, very weird -- political point of sorts).

@thing1thing2themediamaniac43 So . . . you can't admit you were mistaken about my post, and leave it at that? LOL

@thing1thing2themediamaniac43 It is shadowed and I've decided not to repeat it. Sorry. Imagine whatever you like.
