  1. "Gain of function" can be EASILY weaponized, to create a WMD. This is a big reason why people oppose it. An end-run around the prohibitions on WMD research.

  3. CDC new guidance on masks is a travesty. "Fully vaccinated" can be mask-free in many settings. We were told our mask primarily protects others, and vaccination primarily protects those vaccinated -- and not entirely from all COVID infections, but from all severe COVID. So, just like with a flu vaccine, where I'd been vaccinated and caught a mild flu, and I could STILL have passed a severe flu to an unvaccinated person, the SAME thing could happen with COVID. A vaccinated person could infect an unvaccinated one. So much for solidarity.
