That was a legal term for programs to which a person was entitled, meaning they earned them, rather than obtaining them based on need or other, extraneous factors.

@foop145 Talking the talk and doing absolutely nothing is the most demoralizing course that anyone can possibly choose, and everyone knows it. It's the strongest possible message of impotence. No one wants to hear that their cause is supposedly hopeless. You don't think it's odd that after four years of Trump's pathological lying, the Democrats are already walking back from campaign promises? Do you defeat massive lies with nice, polite, ambiguous ones? All of the politicians are acting as though there is no urgency.

@foop145 How do I feel? If it's about feelings, I feel it is wrong for me to continue to live in this empire, and that I need to take steps to emigrate. Every point in your little litany has an asterisk. And the promise of $2000, quickly, was repeatedly made by Biden himself, as well as other Dems on the campaign trail and it was not true. Ha! Where's the $1400? And what happens when all the BACK RENT and property taxes come due? This is pathetic. Nominating Neera Tanden, for ANYTHING, much less OMB, shows a lack of commitment to Social Security and Medicare, by a candidate (i.e., Biden) who has repeatedly said they should go on the chopping block. Sorry if you don't get the message yet.

@foop145 Should we funnel it to people making $50k? Based on 2019 taxes? They haven't filed for 2020, so 2019 is a poor proxy for what is happening to them now. Perhaps some of them are currently in the position Angela Marsden described so well. You're a timewaster.
