During the Cuban Missile Crisis, the incredibly -- shockingly -- reckless actions of the US created a grave risk of nuclear exchange, which the Soviet submarine commander Vasili Arkhipov prevented, despite believing his own death to be imminent. You can find an account in the BBC. This is not some "minority," or "revisionist" view. This is what happened. "To be fair (!!!) . . . The US blew those ships out of the water," indeed. The US has always put the rest of humanity at risk, and takes pride in it. No normal human can grasp this.
