Original COVID was more dangerous to people over 70 and people over 40 with several serious comorbidities. But by the time of the vaccine rollout, this had already changed.

@Chimchimchu Yes. In general, each successive variant was less deadly than the previous one, at least to some small degree. The real difference came with Omicron. Omicron variants are generally less deadly, CDC admits it.

The View put people in danger by giving them a false sense of security. People thought they were safe from contraction and transmission. People thought they were really protecting grandma. Some vaccinated people have died. The risk of death may be lower, but it is not zero.

@Chimchimchu Your personal risk may have been less than 2% from the very start. It probably was by the time the shots were offered to everyone, late spring 2021. This was a fiasco all right. I decided against vaccination as well. It gave too many people a false sense of security, too. :/
