Twitter and Facebook were designed to induce us to share information to enhance surveillance of us -- for private corporate actors in the first place, to advertise to us, if nothing more. But, of course, for MUCH more.

@nowaskmehow Any time someone makes a solid point, the conspiracy theorists come out to play. Gosh you'd think there were a troll farm of them somewhere, deliberately glomming on, and muddling every issue . . .

The criticism is the mildest possible. The tweet was essentially AOC speaking FOR HERSELF.

@nowaskmehow This is relevant, how? Was this journalist questioned about his plans to assassinate anyone, based on some unknown person's TWEET that turned up on a thread he started?

To be frank with you, you sound too trusting. Please don't take this as harsh criticism. I recognize the trait from what my parents were like (father was a veteran of the 8th British Army, by the way). People raised in simpler times were more candid by nature. Please give this point some thought. I never joined FB or Twitter. People who promised respect for my privacy betrayed me without a thought -- as in, let it slip that they did, right in front of me, not realizing what they just said. They didn't even have the presence of mind not to talk about it in front of me.

@januarysson5633 I gave my opinion, based on what I know. No need to get tied up in knots over it. The person I responded to, who is not you, made me worry because of his candor, for good reason. In the US, people who are this candid routinely get harassed. If the UK is much more cordial, it would come as no surprise, and I'm glad. P. S. As an attorney, I've represented pediatric cancer patients whose rights were violated. Of course, I donated my time. Litmus test: if you respond kindly, I'll know you're in Europe. If you don't respond, or double down on rudeness, I'll know you're . . . not in Europe. LOL

I'm always surprised at how out of date it is. Addresses not used in this century come up as my current address (and a P. O. Box address for me is public information, because of my profession), and long-dead relatives and close friends are listed as alive. People who don't exist are listed as living at my physical address. My long-retired doctor is "accepting online appointments" at an office closed about a year ago. I have no idea where any of this came from.
