  3. That's unlikely on its face. France can enforce French laws against anyone, provided it can obtain jurisdiction over that person --- and jurisdiction is complicated. Whether or not something is a crime, and whether or not you can get jurisdiction over a person to rule on whether they committed any crime, are two different questions.

  5. Those platforms are private, and Section 230 permits extensive censorship. Nothing to do with the US Constitution. Actually, the last Supreme Court Justice to question this kind of private censorship of speech was Thurgood Marshall. I was just reading what he wrote about it, last century. Those were the days . . .

  6. This is criminalized under French law. It has nothing to do with the US, UK, Democrats, or LGBTQ++. The real problem is that France cannot ignore a complaint from an Algerian person, no matter what it may look like to others. Figure out why.
