@jairkerker2821 EVERYTHING she said is entirely incorrect. There is no sole individual who can unilaterally decide to disqualify the electors. How could anyone think so? I marvel at the nonsense people will spread, and we aren't even under real pressure yet. The depression is not here yet, we have no war on our own territory, no major terrorist attacks on our soil in years, etc. What happens when life gets really tough?

@D.T. Baker Great points.

@maryhalverson5713 What she described is literally impossible. How could ANYONE believe any single human being, let alone the Vice-President, has this "plenary power?" (Didn't your high school explain "checks and balances?") Vice presidents don't even face election alone, but as running mates. And the Constitution is so lame, that this is how it guts the democratic republic and ensures the will of the voters can be completely overturned? Why can't people tell when something is implausible?

@maryhalverson5713 However true that may be, it is completely false to imagine Pence can overturn the election. He will entertain challenges properly brought, and then the entire Congress will vote on whether to accept a slate of electoral votes from each of the states where the results have been questioned. No reason to think they won't accept them. Having said that, this election contains statistical anomalies due to the fact of early and mail-in voting, and due to the pandemic. So what? You would expect it not to be as predictable as previous years, and to differ from previous years. Even without COVID, I have never in my life seen an election where most votes were cast not FOR someone, but against the other ticket. In a Presidential election, that is strange. This worries me more. I still remember when people used to love the President. That's over.
