@emblemedfate4270 Only to people who don't know the Red Army's successes were in spite of Stalin, not because of him. The only possible excuse is that it took a LOT of adversity to bring a Stalin on the scene, and render him irredeemably criminally insane. We had one 9/11, the Soviets had the equivalent of 10,000 before they went stark raving mad. Perspective.

@emblemedfate4270 The USSR had the world's most powerful land army, probably the most powerful ever. So, no comparison, to any other country, actually. No people's army has ever suffered defeat when defending their own soil. Not Vietnam, not Cuba. They cannot even flip Venezuela, despite all that is objectively wrong with the political leadership and management of that country. Chavez built a people's army. It's still around, for now. Libya had nothing comparable, mini-personality cult notwithstanding.
