  5.  @farmerjohn6526  I suspect, from watching the elites, that if you have enough money you can be cured essentially every time. Trump was far gone, and was brought back. Christie has severe comorbidities and is fine. Chris Cuomo and his wife were unscathed, and she blabbed about their platinum "complementary care," sounding like they were better post COVID than pre. Nancy Pelosi was unworried about masking when it interferred with getting her hair done. All this was before vaccinations. No one at Obama's birthday party or at the Met gala was worried. Then they descended upon (unvaccinated) Joe Rogan like a pack of jackals for telling people what he did when he contracted COVID. Watch what they do, ignore what they say. There's a lot they know that they don't share.

  8.  @aquato33  Well, if the issue concerns taking up space in hospitals, how was the second surge in 2020 managed, which was far larger than the first? Lockdowns to slow spread where medical resources actually are taxed to the breaking point could become necessary, but that isn't an entire economy. There are other, more effective measures possible -- finally, at-home testing kits will be covered by insurance. They have been in Germany for a long time. The POINT is, massive lockdowns did not end the pandemic, but did serious harm. And Sweden, which had no lockdowns, has a lower case fatality and per capita fatality rate than we do. Japan's rate is phenomenally low, despite hosting the Olympics and having a relatively slow vaccine rollout. We need to share information. We also had record drug overdose deaths in the US . . . BTW. :/

  11. You are SO ahead of everyone else. I admit I thought the first six weeks made sense, because hospitals were overwhelmed in a few places. I also thought that ANY shutdown without universal emergency UBI was immoral. I thought medical care for COVID would be paid for. Wrong again. I was uneasy about Sweden's course, but willing to listen, and even more uneasy about left-wing Swedes vilified in our MSM, even on Democracy Now! I had no idea how far we had fallen. Now I have to plan to leave the States in order to be able to retire, and am so lucky I can. Probably. I never count on anything any more.

  13.  @demonic.lionfish  Also, when you start researching the peer-reviewed research available, even through NIH, it is disheartening to see how little is shared -- even the information that is VERY helpful and could be shared, and would not cause anyone to overdose on supplements or ignore their doctor's advice. Likewise, what other countries are doing is being suppressed here, instead of being openly reported and discussed.

I remember having enough to live modestly but securely. 2001 did not destroy us or come close, 2008-09 did not destroy us or come close, 2010 did not destroy us, but did affect us. 2020 nearly destroyed us. At least I can emigrate. Good thing, because I have to.

  16.  @texajp1946  I wonder whether their reported cases and total deaths are accurate. They are phenomenally low. But even Japan's per capita fatality rate translates to about 50,000 deaths here -- which is a very severe flu season. How is that possible? Are we all counting the same way? We need more information sharing. NOW.

  17.  @aquato33  WHO is taking resources for "ego and pride?" (Who put you up to this? I mean, thinking this way?) I do look at other countries, both their statistics and the statements made by their Ministries of Health, which anyone can find online. I would never go by the CDC alone. Not anymore. Another thing I wonder about: did India stop its surge? If so, how?
