Eric did get his PhD there, in "mathematical physics" -- which is probably not an empirical domain for the most part. He probably would have had a greater challenge in some realm requiring a lot of applied physics.

john lewis That's quite tendentious and exaggerated. He is a civil liberties advocate, always was, and a liberal in the 20th century sense -- and he has remained one. He just said the other day that he never voted for Trump and does not expect to have to.

@johnlewis9158 Evergreen State College . . . And how do you know? He resisted heavy pressure there to go along with a supposedly anti-racism performative event that he thought was misguided. He put his safety on the line.

@johnlewis9158 More important, Bret Weinstein always said ALL of his actual students took his side. If they all had the guts, how was he a bad teacher? How was Evergreen State a bad school? Heather was always more conservative and she always liked it, too. They believe in reasonable pro-choice laws, which moderate Republicans once believed in, too.
