@TheRotnflesh Then the agents of the government that institute such illegal repression will be sued and will eventually lose, if they aren't subjected to an injunction in the meantime as well, effectively preventing them from continuing. There is no "general welfare" exception to free speech -- which is not to say no one will attempt to invoke it anyway.

@Rampart.X In the case of Columbia, aerial photos show that the tents took up very little space on a huge lawn, and could easily be avoided by anyone who wanted to. There was no interference with Columbia's educational mission. That's why so many professors support the students.

@Rampart.X Terrible. I just commented on a case the Supreme Court is hearing by saying that the petition and briefs may hold the answer as to why it got a hearing, and THAT was removed. Say what?

@TheRotnflesh If it's First Amendment protected speech, then there can be NO legal consequences. Othe people can dislike you, some jobs can even fire you, but those are the only consequences. You can't even be sued and found liable for inflicting emotional distress. (You never heard of the Westboro Baptist Church case? Or RAV v. City of St. Paul?)
