  8. Is Medicare worse than Big Pharma and rapacious insurance companies? How? Every European country with universal health has a better system. Even poor countries like Greece, much less Norway, have a better system. If your point is that Americans can't do as well, I guess you need to explain why we flub everything for everybody who isn't a multimillionaire. I'm waiting.

The term "assault rifle" is colloquial, and perfectly legitimate to describe weapons that are designed for use in combat, against people, as opposed to "hunting rifles," which are used in . . . hunting. As a term, it is insufficiently precise to place in a statute intended to criminalize possession, transfer, or use. Nice repetition of talking points. But it's wrong.

  10.  @Easy_Skanking  I don't dispute that. Of course nothing stops anyone from using a hunting rifle against people, or a carving knife, or rat poison, or . . . The term "assault rifle" is still acceptable as a colloquial designation. Or do you contend people buy an AR 15 for the purpose of pheasant hunting, or deer? No they don't.
